Install GIGI Squad and get connected
This guide walks caregivers and elders through the complete flow: install elder desktop first, pair and call from caregiver mobile, then optionally use caregiver desktop for the full feature set. It is a one-time setup — once you are paired, calls and remote help connect on their own.
What you need for a smooth setup
GIGI works best when both people are ready before pairing starts.
One caregiver and one elder
GIGI Squad is built around a single consent-based pairing between two people.
A stable internet connection
You will need internet for pairing, calling, and remote help sessions.
The right device for each person
Caregiver mobile supports pairing and calls. Caregiver desktop (same account) unlocks full features.
Permission prompts enabled
Allow the prompts the app shows once, so calls, notifications, and support tools connect on their own afterwards.
1. Choose the caregiver flow
Start on caregiver mobile, then decide if desktop is needed for advanced tools.
Mobile-only caregiver flow
Use caregiver mobile to sign in, pair with the elder, and run regular calls.
Desktop caregiver full-feature flow
Sign in to GIGI Squad on desktop with the same caregiver account to get remote help, presence, and Watch Together tools.
No re-pairing required
When the same caregiver account is used on desktop, the existing pair and history continue without redoing pairing.
2. Install the apps
Install elder desktop first, then caregiver apps in order.
Elder desktop first
Install the elder desktop companion on the elder computer, launch it once, and complete first-run prompts.
Caregiver mobile second
Install the caregiver app on iPhone or Android and sign in with the caregiver account used for pairing.
Optional caregiver desktop third
Install GIGI Squad on the caregiver desktop and sign in with that same caregiver account to unlock full features.
3. Pair the caregiver and elder
Pairing always starts from the caregiver account and elder PIN flow.
Generate a PIN
The elder opens GIGI Squad and creates a one-time 6-digit pairing code.
Enter the PIN
The caregiver enters that PIN in caregiver mobile (or caregiver desktop signed into the same account) to request connection.
Confirm the pairing
The elder approves the request, and the pair becomes active only after both sides agree. This is also where the elder allows auto-connecting calls and remote help — both stay switchable in Settings afterwards.
4. Finish permissions and device setup
Allow the prompts that make the core features work smoothly.
Camera and microphone
Needed for live video calls and voice.
Notifications
Keeps the caregiver notified about incoming calls and important status updates.
Desktop access prompts (full-feature path)
If caregiver desktop and elder desktop companion are used, approve the OS prompts each app shows during setup.
5. Start using GIGI Squad
Use the features available in your chosen caregiver flow.
Mobile caregiver: pair + call
Use caregiver mobile for pairing and everyday calls. Start a call and it connects on the elder’s screen by itself — they do not have to answer.
Desktop caregiver: full features
Use caregiver desktop (same account) for presence, remote help, and Watch Together in addition to calls.
The elder stays in control
Auto-connect and remote access are the elder’s to keep or revoke — both have a toggle in Settings, and they can end any call or help session instantly.
